Shortbread

Called shortbread and not shortcake due to a scottish tax law which increased tax on cakes.

Ingredients

Method

  1. Soften butter, mix sugar with it
  2. Mix in flower until a firm-ish cookie dough
  3. Wrap and put in fridge for an hour
  4. Take out, cut into shapes, oven at 140deg if fan, 160 otherwise for 15 minutes. Should be very lightly browned but barely, shouldnt be squishy
